About

The 'Fungery - agency for fungal x human relations' shares mushroom knowledge through sensory and hands‑on learning, brings people together, and provides temporary infrastructure for that purpose. Using fungi’s collaborative traits as a model, it invites participation from current and future mushroom enthusiasts. In doing so it creates a network of diverse actors that, like fungal mycelium, connects different organisms.

Food Design

Tempeh buckwheat burger patty, 2024. The recipe and a mold were developed so the tempeh mycelium shapes the patty and optimizes bite texture. A wavy surface on top and bottom increases surface area, producing a crisp crust when fried.

Space

The temporary infrastructure consists of twelve stools, four tables, and a work table on casters. Visually and conceptually, the elements create a space that can be flexible and location-independent.
